I think there was massive advances in air power before and during WW2.
Also by Ian Drury in Diogenes Club in late 2023: James Goldrick’s 1980s account of naval warfare 1914-15 noted that it’s worth studying as an example of warfare fought in a time of rapid technological chance: admirals who started their careers in sailing ships ended up commanding dreadnoughts on seas also contested by submarines and aircraft.
Look at this and grab some themes, and write something that’s a start.
